In March, the Carolina Panthers signed linebacker Denzel Perryman to a 2-year contract to help a linebacker group that at times struggled last season, but Perryman’s time in Carolina would be short-lived as the team traded the 7-year veteran to the Las Vegas Raiders Wednesday night.
In exchange for Perryman and a 2022 7th round NFL draft pick, the Panthers will received the Raiders’ 2022 6th rounder.
With the move Jermaine Carter, who Matt Rhule said this week was the starter with Perryman sidelined by various injuries, will have an opportunity to solidify himself as the quarterback of the defense.
Perryman will be reunited with Raiders defensive coordinator Gus Bradley, who he played for in Los Angeles.
