NC State Releases 2021-22 Men’s Basketball Non-Conference Schedule

The NC State men’s basketball team announced its 2021-22 non-conference schedule Thursday afternoon.

The Pack will play 11 non-conference games and 20 Atlantic Coast Conference games in the 2021-22 regular season. The ACC slate of games will be announced in the middle of September.

NC State will play seven home games and four neutral site games in various Basketball Hall of Fame events in its non-conference schedule.

Overall, NC State will play six games against teams that finished in the top-100 of the NET last season, including four games against teams that appeared in the NCAA Tournament and two more games against teams that were invited to the NIT.

The Pack opens the season with a two-game homestand, hosting Bucknell on Tuesday, Nov. 9 in the season-opener for both teams and then will host Colgate on Saturday, Nov. 13.

NC State heads to the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Ct., for the second consecutive season as it will take part in the Basketball Hall of Fame Showcase on Nov. 16 and 17. The Pack will face Central Connecticut on Tuesday and will face-off against Oklahoma State on Wednesday.

The Pack returns home to host Texas Southern on Sunday, Nov. 21 completing a stretch of games where NC State will have played three teams (Colgate, Oklahoma State and Texas Southern) that played in the 2021 NCAA Tournament.

On Saturday, Nov. 27, the Pack hosts Louisiana Tech which went 23-8 last season and figures to be on of the preseason favorites to win Conference USA.

On Wednesday, Dec. 1, NC State plays in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge and will welcome a Nebraska team that returns four starters and five of its top-six scorers from last season to PNC Arena.

The Pack will play its annual Heritage Game in Reynolds Coliseum on Thursday, Dec. 9 when it hosts Bethune-Cookman.

NC State will return to the road on Sunday, Dec. 12 when it plays Purdue in the Basketball Hall of Fame Invitational in the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. The Boilermakers are projected to be a preseason top-five team in the country in the upcoming season.

The Pack will play in Charlotte’s Spectrum Center on Friday, Dec. 17 against Richmond as part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Shootout.

NC State will wrap-up its non-conference schedule on Wednesday, Dec. 22 against Wright State in PNC Arena. Wright State went 18-6 last season and finished with a NET of 75, but was upset in overtime in its conference tournament and did not advance to postseason play.
