Charlotte Hornets guard, Terry Rozier has agreed to a four-year maximum extension worth $97 million dollars, according to NBA Insider Shams Charania.

The contract extension keeps Rozier in a Hornets uniform through the 2025-25 season.

Rozier’s presence helps keep stability in a young back-court with NBA rookie of the year Lamelo Ball and 2021 1st round draft pick James Bouknight, who is expected to be a pivotal piece to the Hornets scoring regime.

Coming off a career high 20.4 points per game, 4.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists (all career highs), Terry’s name was mentioned in the last several weeks among rumored trade packages.

What’s for certain, the extension not only helps efficiency in the backcourt, it gives Ball and Bouknight veteran leadership at the guard position, which is arguably the most important position in the association.
