If you’re an NC State fan, of course all of the games this upcoming fall are must-watch. But after scanning the schedule, here are three games we thought are ones you can’t miss.
#3 – September 11 at Mississippi State:
While the Bulldogs are coming off a 4-7 record in 2020, anytime an ACC/SEC matchup happens it’s a big game. At the ACC Football Kickoff last month we talked with the players about the ACC not getting the respect that they deserve from the SEC. Here’s a big chance for NC State to gain some of that respect, especially coming off a disappointing loss to Kentucky in the Gator Bowl. This is also looked at as one of those games that NC State SHOULD win, but could lay an egg in head-scratching fashion.
#2 – November 26 vs UNC:
No matter what UNC fans or players might say, this game is a rivalry. A rivalry recently that Mack Brown and the Tar Heels have owned since his return to Chapel Hill – outscoring NC State 89-31 in the last two contests. This game could have huge implications on division champions for both teams, on top of the Wolfpack just trying to get back on the winning side of this matchup.
#1 – September 2 vs South Florida:
Thursday night in Carter-Finley Stadium. There are few places like it in college football. Add that to coming off a year where most games were played at small capacities, and a potential full Carter-Finley sets up for an unbelievable atmosphere to open up the season. The parking lots will be full all day in Raleigh.
Honorable Mention – September 25 vs Clemson:
The defending ACC Champions come to town after a year off from the yearly Textile Bowl due to the 2020 Covid ACC schedule. With some thinking this could be the year for NC State to get over the hump, this could be the game for the Wolfpack to show everyone they are the real deal with a big win at home over a top 3 team. With the game being home, crazier things have happened in Raleigh.
