The Carolina Hurricanes continue to position themselves for a deep Stanley Cup Playoff run with consistent play and good goaltending from three…yes three different netminders.
Petr Mrazek returned from the IR and brief conditioning stint with the AHL’s Chicago Wolves picking up two wins against the Dallas Stars and a shutout against the Florida Panthers in his first NHL action since January 30th.
Carolina most recently fell in a shootout to the Detroit Red Wings Saturday night 5-4 in Raleigh seeing their record fall to 27-9-4 (58 points) but picked up a very important point to remain ahead of Tampa Bay who also has 58 points but the Hurricanes do have a game in hand.
Center Sabastian Aho leads the Canes in goals with 17 and points with 38 as his last goal tied the game at 4-4 Saturday night. Vincent Trocheck continues to be a serious offensive threat tallying 16 goals and 34 points. Dougie Hamilton leads the blue line with 33 points and 6 goals.
Next up for Carolina…a two-game series against the red hot Nashville Predators at home followed by another two-game series with Tampa Bay in Florida.
