Hornets Acquire Wanamaker from Warriors

The Charlotte Hornets were not expected to make any noise at the trade deadline.

They are currently 4th in the East and even with the status of LaMelo Ball being up in the air, the Hornets are in a decent spot and there was no need to trade. However, that didn’t mean they would turn down picks and cash for handling another team’s trash.

Charlotte receives guard Brad Wanamaker, a 2022 second round draft pick(from Toronto via Philadelphia) and cash considerations. Saying that Wanamaker underwhelmed in his 39 games in Golden State is a gross understatement. He averaged 4.7 points, 2.5 assists and 1.7 rebounds in 16 minutes per game. For the minuscule pluses he has on defense, Wanamaker negates it with his woes on offense.

If the Hornets play Wanamaker, they will have to endure atrocious offense and decent but infrequent defense. The safe bet is to waive him.

Good Luck.
