NC State To Face Colorado State In Second Round of NIT

The NC State Wolfpack will look to continue their NIT run as they take on the Rams from Colorado State Thursday evening. Tipoff is slated for 7 PM and can be seen on ESPN.

The Wolfpack advanced to the quarterfinals in this year’s modified field after defeating fellow Hoop State program Davidson last week 75-61. The Wolfpack have now won six of their last seven games with their lone setback being to Sween 16 participant Syracuse in the ACC Tournament.

Cole Hellems leads the Wolfpack scoring attack at 12.8 points per contest followed by DJ Funderburk at 12.6 points per game while also adding 5.5 rebounds per outing. Manny Bates controls the glass grabbing just under six rebounds per game while throwing in 9.7 points per game. Freshman point guard Cam Hayes continues to impress dishing out 3.1 assists

Colorado State slid past Buffalo 75-73 last Friday to proceed to the second-round matchup. The Rams are 19-6 on the season and have alternated wins and losses in their last five outings. Guard David Roddy paces the Rams at 16.1 points per game with Isiah Stevens not far behind at 15 points per game, 5.5 assists, and 4.6 rebounds padding the boxscore. As a team, CSU shoots an impressive 54% from beyond the arc which is key to their offensive success.
