NC State Heads To UVA Looking For Season Split

The NC State Wolfpack head to Charlottesville, VA looking to win their fourth straight road ACC game as they take on the UVA Cavilers. Tip-off is slated for 6:30 and can be seen on the ACC Network.

The Wolfpack will be looking to avoid the season sweep by the Cavilers as UVA took round one in Raleigh on February 4th 64-57. Cole Hellems led all scorers with 23 points. Sam Hauser and Trey Murphy III paced UVA with 18 points each.

Since that matchup, both teams have won three of their last five contest with each team on opposite ends of two-game streaks.

NC State (10-9 overall, 6-8 ACC) has reeled off back-to-back wins, most recently playing one of their most complete games last Saturday defeating Wake Forest 80-62 on the road. Hellems and redshirt freshman Dereon Seabron led a balanced offensive output with 14 points each as four Wolfpack players finished the game in double figures.

Seabron also added 9 rebounds and four steals, padding the boxscore but also showing what NC State fans have to look forward to in the future. The Wolfpack also forced Demon Deacons turnovers while holding them to just 28% shooting beyond the arc.

UVA (15-5 overall, 11-3 ACC) enters Wednesday’s matchup looking to end a season-long two-game losing streak after back-to-back disappointing outings against league-leading Florida State and improving Duke. Durham native Jay Huff returned to his hometown to lead the Cavilers in scoring, finishing with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Hauser, who leads UVA in scoring at 15 ppg, followed with 19 points. The Cavilers found themselves on the wrong side of the turnover battle which is rare as they turned the ball over 13 times but managed to still shoot 50% from the floor for the contest. UVA has won their last nine contest at the John Paul Jones Arena
