Hornets Return To Action Vs Warriors; Will the Time Away Negatively Impact Them?

Due to contact tracing and league health and safety protocols, the Hornets’ games between the Bulls and the Nuggets have been postponed. The Hornets will return to action Saturday as they host the Golden State Warriors.

Had the Hornets played a back-to-back after the San Antonio game, the two-game hiatus wouldn’t be much of a big deal. However, there wasn’t a back to back. The Hornets actually have five days of rest. Two would at least be advantageous, but a week plus the impact that the protocols had on practices (individual shooting, limited access) may be a cause for concern.

The Hornets will face a Warriors team determined to string together a winning streak. On the season, Golden State hasn’t won or lost more than three games. They are fighting to find their identity and make a push for the playoffs despite losing Klay Thompson for the season.

Charlotte will have to find a way to slow down Stephen Curry and force the others to beat them. Look for the Hornets to try to throw a series of traps at Curry and dare the supporting cast to shoot and score.
