In the Charlotte Hornets’ 126-114 stunner against the Bucks, guard Terry Rozier sprained his right ankle while running up the court late in the first half and never returned to action.
LaMelo Ball replaced Rozier in the lineup and had another breakout game. His line? 27 points, five rebounds, and nine assists.
The Hornets have listed Rozier as questionable for tomorrow’s game against the Heat, and according to the Charlotte Observer, head coach James Borrego said that he didn’t want to make a decision without knowing Rozier’s status for sure.
If in fact Rozier can’t go and Borrego will start Ball, it will be an opportunity to see how Ball impacts the lineup. Right now, Borrego is sold on his current lineup of having Rozier and Devontae Graham in the lineup despite Graham’s regression. Borrego playing Ball off the bench and varying minutes recently is part of the Hornets’ process of development. If Ball starts and thrives, it will once again force a discussion on whether or not it’s time for Ball to start.
