Brian Burns Named NFL Defensive Player of the Week

After a monster game against the Detroit Lions, Carolina Panthers defensive end Brian Burns has been named the league’s defensive player of the week. He tallied two sacks, five tackles, one tackle for a loss and one pass defended in the week 11 shutout.

Burns was named NFL rookie of the month last September. He leads the Panthers with 6.0 sacks and 16 quarterback hits. His 29 quarterback pressures are tied for first among NFL defensive ends (according to Radar360).
