Cam Newton is a hard act for anyone to follow. Couple what with the circumstances around his departure and Teddy Bridgewater will have his hands full winning over a fanbase that is still very bitter.

By and large athletes do a good job of not responding to social media slander, but every now and then they’ll let you know they see the trash talk and send a message of their own. Thursday night Carolina’s new QB did just that tweeting a post surgery gif of himself with the caption, “Came back for this just to lay down…? You out your damn mind.”
He followed that up with tweets saying “Once you know my why you’ll understand me” and “Ima fw y’all though.”

Time heals all wounds and just like with the unceremonious departure of Steve Smith, Panthers Nation will eventually move on from the Cam Newton breakup. But even if they don’t, Teddy won’t be seem to be phased.
