Cameron Crazies are known for giving opposing teams a hard time. It’s what makes Cameron Indoor one of the toughest places in all of sports to play. Tuesday night one of the their own returned as a opponent. Jeff Capel, who played and coached at Duke, led his Pitt Panthers into Durham to take on the Blue Devils.
Right before the half, the Duke student section started chanting “Jeff Capel sit with us” which elicited this response from Coach K.
After the game Coach K apologized to fans for his outburst – explaining that he thought they were saying offensive and personal about his “his guy.”
After the game students shared their dirt sheet which showed they had nothing bad to say about Coach Capel and Capel responded by encouraging them to continue to cheer on their squad.

Pitt fell to Duke 79-67.

Coach K held a meeting with students apologizing again for his reaction last night. Coach Capel also tweeting about how special it was for K to have his back.
