People headed to work or shopping in Uptown Charlotte today will see a couple of new Billboards during their commute, but the new signage isn’t for them. Panthers Culture owner Jesse Hardy III and fans who contributed to his GoFundMe campaign want the the big guy himself, David Tepper, to see how much they want QB1 to return.
As passionate Panthers Fans, we are in the midst of a major shift in the trajectory of the team we love so much.
Cam Newton has brought so much joy, passion, loyalty, and culture to the Carolina Panthers, the City of Charlotte, and the Two State Region, that we want to show him and the team how much we want him to stay.
We want him to finish what he started in Charlotte. We want him to only experience wearing #1 in Charlotte!
The money collected via this fundraiser will go directly to purchasing Billboard Space near Bank Of America Stadium to demonstrate our love for Cam to David Tepper and Marty Hurney.
We want to show them that we are All In with keeping him as the leader and face of our Team.
We wrote about the charge to #KeepCamInCarolina2020 about a month ago. Jenkins saw the movement and decided to take it one step further with the billboards.
I included the #KeepCamInCarolina2020 to honor @jeeperjay18 for the initial movement and remembering @TateM704 for his petition. We have all collectively attacked this objective from different fronts! Here’s to hoping they all work!
The billboards are located off of I-77 Northbound between Tyvola and Woodlawn, and at the 77 and 277 interchange near the stadium. The digital boards will display the message for 8 seconds and come back around every minute.
It took 9 days for Jenkins to raise the funds needed to get the billboards started, but he’d like to keep them up longer, so if you’d like to see Cam in Carolina blue next season you can contribute to the campaign here.
