The ACC Network debuted the first episode of All Access: A Season with Carolina Basketball last night. The series gives fans rare look into the inner workings of the North Carolina men’s basketball program throughout the 2019-20 season. Here are five things we learned in the first episode:
Bacot’s Hair Swag:
In the opening scene freshman phenom Armando Bacot had gold braids with the top portion pulled up into a pony tail. Coach Williams joked that he better “really be a player if he’s going to keep his hair like that.” Williams also mentioned that people asked him about Coby White’s hair last year and he played so well that he only had to answer questions about it once.
Coach Williams knows how to rock a Boosie fade…or not:
During a practice, graduate transfer Christian Keeling told Coach Williams that he was rocking a Boosie fade – a haircut made popular by Louisiana rapper Lil Boosie. Coach, who had to be told what Keeling meant by former Tar Heel and current Director of Recruiting Kendall Marshall, said the style was simply “A Scottie.”

The Quote Rolodex:
After every practice Coach Williams has a player share a quote of the day – some of which he pulls from a rolodex passed on to him by Dean Smith. Each quote has the date that it was used. It’s an item that Williams clearly treasures and says he will pass on to the next Tar Heel coach when he retires.
How Many Holes Does a Straw Have:
During a break players had a rousing conversation about how many holes a straw has. Senior Brandon Robinson use additional props and impressive logic to prove his point. In the end it was determined that a straw has two holes.
Shirt Check:
During a segment shot in their house, Garrison Brooks, Sterling Manley, Brandon Robinson and Christian Keeling were discussing room choices and video games. Brooks points out that they’re in Chapel Hill filming a segment about Carolina basketball and Keeling had on a Charleston Southern shirt. The guys noted that they weren’t happy about his apparel choice, but since he got a degree from the institution they’d let it pass. I’m pretty sure Keeling won’t make that mistake again…
