Near the end of the 1st quarter of Thursday’s preseason game against the Patriots, Cam Newton limped off the field with a foot injury after this play:
After the game, Newton was seen leaving Gillette Stadium wearing a boot.
During his post game press conference, Ron Rivera said he had no update on the injury or its severity.
The Panthers fell 10-3 to the Patriots in their 3rd preseason game.

Ian Rapoport has reported that preliminary x-rays were negative and the early prognosis is a left foot sprain.
