Panthers safety Eric Reid has been very supportive of Colin Kaepernick’s protest and fight for justice and racial equality. Reid has also been open about his belief that Kaepernick should be on an NFL team.
Rapper Jay Z has publicly supported Colin in the past – lobbying for a team to sign him and even shunning the league on his most recent “4:44” album. So when news broke that the music mogul would partner with the league as their new “live music entertainment strategist” and also become involved with the league’s key social initiatives many, including Eric Reid, questioned the move.
The Panthers safety didn’t mince words when asked his thoughts on the new alliance after the Panthers 27-14 preseason loss to the Bills.
News broke Friday evening that in addition to his entertainment and social initiative partnership, Jay Z would also obtain a significant ownership stake in a NFL franchise. Additional details about collaboration are still emerging.
