One of the main goals of every NFL team is to make it through training camp with a healthy squad. So when Luke Kuechly left the field after a pile-up during a 9-on-7 drill and didn’t return to practice many were concerned about the All-Pro’s health, but according to Ron Rivera the decision to hold him back was out of caution.
“They (medical staff) were being overly cautious. We’re going to be smart. It’s a little bit hot today, so we moved on. It doesn’t make sense to put a guy out there on a day that’s going to be overly hot.”
Kuechly started all 16 games last season and led the team with 93 tackles.
