Cam Newton recently got his first tattoo. To many, including myself, this was news because Jerry Richardson said in an interview that he didn’t want the former top NFL draft pick to get inked. Newton took to Instagram Thursday afternoon to refute any such claim.
“Big Lies! He never said I could not get a tattoo or grow my hair; I was free to do whatever I wanted to do! I should have said something the first time this came out years ago, but I can not let this fly this time!”
Maybe Richardson never came out and said Newton couldn’t get tattoos, but he was very clear in this interview with Charlie Rose that he wasn’t a fan of him having them.
When you’re young and the man writing the man writing the checks makes a suggestion, it’s more than a suggestion. Either way, I’m all for this open and unapologetic Cam.
