Last fall the CIAA opened up bidding for potential hosts for its annual basketball tournament once Charlotte’s contract is up in 2020. Norfolk, Baltimore and Charlotte were all in the running to land the coveted contract. According to HBCU Gameday a decision has been made.
Sources tell HBCU Gameday that the CIAA Tournament is moving to Baltimore, Maryland. The conference will fulfill its obligation to Charlotte for the next two years before moving north and being played at Royal Farms Arena.
An official announcement is expected to come this week.
