After dropping four games in a row the Panthers needed a shake-up, which came in the form of two position coaches being fired and Ron Rivera taking over defensive playing calling duties from first-year coordinator Eric Washington. The question now is what does all this mean for a Carolina team that’s trying to make a late season playoff push?
According to veterans Captain Munnerlyn, Wes Horton and Eric Reid don’t expect drastic changes to the defensive game plan.
This only reinforces what players have been saying the whole time. The issue isn’t coaching related, it’s their lack of game plan execution. Either way, I don’t think the change will make things any worse than they already are. And who knows, subtle nuances may ignite a late season run.
