Report: UNC Hires Mack Brown as New Football Coach

That didn’t take long…

Just one day after announcing the firing of Larry Fedora, UNC has reached an agreement to hire former Texas coach Mack Brown as the new leader of their football program according to Inside Carolina.

North Carolina has reached an agreement with Mack Brown to once again coach the Tar Heels, multiple sources have confirmed.

An announcement is expected Tuesday. Brown has already begun efforts to assemble his coaching staff, according to sources.

Brown, who coached the Tar Heels from 1988-1997, has spent that last few years as an ESPN college football analyst after reaching a mutual agreement to leave Texas in 2013. During his coaching career he’s won one national championship and two Big 12 championships.
