The Carolina’s sports community is coming together in an amazing way to help those affected by Hurricane Florence. Michael Jordan has donated $2 million, the Charlotte Hornets organization is packing food boxed for 5,000 victims, NC State, Duke and UNC are all holding supply drives. Now to add to the theme of helping thy neighbor, the Tar Heel football has donated their per diem to purchase supplies for those affected by the hurricane.
Every member of the #UNC football team donated his weekly per diem to buy goods for @kev_red52’s efforts to provide supplies to his hometown of New Bern. #HurricaneFlorence

“Obviously we were very blessed to have not been hit as hard as a lot of the state,” said senior tight end Brandon Fritts, speaking on behalf of the team. “We wanted just to do anything we could to help and give back to the rest of the state.”
The $15 daily per diem, given by every member of the team, will be used to purchase supplies for residents of New Bern, NC who were hit hard by Hurricane Florence
