The Carolina Panthers will travel to San Francisco to take on the 49ers to open the 2017 NFL season. Cam Newton spoke with the media ahead of Sunday’s game and was asked his thoughts on Colin Kaepernick, the 49ers former starting quarterback who has noticeably been blackballed after taking a knee during the National Anthem last season in protest of racial injustice in the this country.
Newton, who faced considerable criticism from some fans last season after his once unapologetically black demeanor steered more toward that of an “All Lives Matter” approach, said it was “unfair” that Kaepernick wasn’t on a NFL roster.

It’s nice to see Cam speak candidly about what’s going on with Colin Kaepernick.
