Former Panther Ricky Proehl resigned from his position as wide receivers coach about a month ago to spend more time watching his sons play college football . With his departure he left a vacancy at the position that Ron Rivera has filled with another former Carolina wideout.

Rivera announced the hiring while talking to media during this week’s NFL combine.
Cotchery spent 11 seasons in the league. His final two were with Carolina.
