If you haven’t heard, recently released receiver Victor Cruz visited with Panthers personnel on Monday. According to reports, the meeting went well and Carolina is on Cruz’s short list of potential teams to sign with.

Cruz and Panthers’ GM David Gettleman have a relationship that dates back 2010 when Gettleman was part of the Giants’ front office who signed Cruz as an un-drafted free agent out of UMass.
As offseason signings get into full swing, the Panthers will have a lot of decisions to make, one of which will be whether to resign restricted free agent Philly Brown, who had an interestingly timed tweet that talked about his production while at Carolina.
Philly’s tweet could be totally unrelated to Cruz’s visit with the Panthers. Maybe he was just thinking about his stats and decided to let folk know who may be sleeping on him what he’s done, OR maybe he was subtlety letting Carolina and the fans know that he can get the job done just a well as Victor. Either way, this should be an interesting offseason.
