Well, that free agency period wasn’t long.
According to a report by the Charlotte Observer’s Joseph Person, Charles Johnson has agreed to terms with the Panthers that will keep him in Carolina for at least one more season.
It's a 1-year deal worth $3 million for Charles Johnson, per source. I'm told he turned down offers of $6M a year elsewhere to stay in CLT.

Charles Johnson to me: "It’s not about the money. Carolina is home and I wouldn’t have been happy if I went somewhere else.” #Panthers

Charles’ teammates couldn’t let him getaway with toying with everyone’s emotions without giving him a hard time on Twitter.

Johnson’s return means that all team captains will return with their sight squarely on winning a Super Bowl.
The Panthers also resigned free agent Joe Webb.
