This season Josh Norman has emerged as one of the league’s premier cornerbacks and with his new-found acclaim will come new-found money.  Norman is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in 2016 if the Panthers don’t ink him to a long-term deal during the season.  Having become a fan favorite across the Carolinas fans want nothing more than to see Norman lining up against the league’s best receivers for years to come, so much so, that a GoFundMe was created to help raise money for his contract extension.

We the fan base of the Carolina Panthers want Josh Norman signed to a 5 year deal…we are willing to help put the best team on the field..Pay the man…he’s a free agent after this season..with 4 int and 2 pick 6s…He is a absolute must keep and essential to our future success. #paytheman

So far, Rob Bergeron’s futile attempt at helping out efforts to keep Norman in Carolina have fallen short.  As today, the 11-day old campaign has only raised five dollars.

I wouldn’t take this as a sign that fans don’t want Norman to stay.  It’s just the opposite.  But like me, I’m sure they find helping a billionaire fund player contracts ludicrous.  If you’re crazy enough to do so, you can donate here.
