With the absence of Charles Johnson for the foreseeable future, questions linger for the Panthers’ defensive line. Carolina has attempted to address those concerns by trading for Jared Allen.

Panthers were looking for a pass rusher and Jared Allen didn't fit 3-4 of bears so they've traded him for pick

The foundation of the Panthers’ defense is based on getting pressure on the quarterback from their front four. Nine-year veteran Allen could very well provide Carolina with the help they need.
No information yet of what pick the Panthers gave the Bears in return for Allen.
****UPDATE****
The Panthers gave up a 6th round pick for Allen.
Allen was traded for a 6th-rounder. Bears knew he didn't fit standup OLB position & didn't want to keep forcing it and forcing rotation
