Defensive Coordinator Says Josh Norman Practices Catching Passes On His Back

Josh Norman’s spectacular interception sealed the victory for the Panthers yesterday and while many marveled at Norman’s catch, ESPN’s David Newton reports that according to defensive coordinator Sean McDermott, it’s something he practices on a regular basis.

Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott says cornerback Josh Norman does a drill every day after practice where he lays on his back and has the trainer throw balls to him. Catch a look at Norman’s game-saving interception on Sunday where he is almost horizontal to the ground. Guess practice makes perfect.

The Panthers tried to sign Norman to an extension during the off-season, but could not reach a deal with the 4-year veteran out of Coastal Carolina – which is only proving to be more lucrative for Josh,  as his stock has considerably increased over the first three games of the season.
