For the first time since being picked 1st in the 2014 NFL Draft, former South Carolina star and current Houston Texans linebacker Jadeveon Clowney will suit-up close to home when his team travels to Carolina to play the Panthers. While Clowney admits he’s excited about he game, he says there’s nothing special about it.
Here’s the audio from his interview discussing his homecoming via HoustonTexans.com.
In addition to Clowney, Houston defensive back and Rock Hill native Jonathan Joseph will have a large contingency on hand. His mother says she’s predicting about 100 family and friends will attend Sunday’s game.
“It is right here close by to home – everybody wants to go,” Diane Joseph said. “We are so excited to have him playing here where so many people can go watch him. And not just Johnathan. People want to go see Jadeveon play, too. There is a lot of love for them here.”
While Clowney and Jospeh will have a large cheering section, expect Carolina fans to drown them out as excitement and anticipation for Sunday’s game is high.
The Panthers are currently listed at 3-point favorites.
