Panthers Sign Derek Anderson to 2-Year Extension

Having a reliable back-up is essential in the injury prone NFL and with that in mind, the Carolina Panthers locked up Newton’s wing man, Derek Anderson, for another 2 years.

“I’m excited about this for my family. To be here with the players, coaches and management we have – everything is top notch,” Anderson said. “It was a no-brainer for me.”

Last season in the two games he started while Cam was nursing injuries, Anderson was 2-0.  This season will be his 11th in the league.
