Last night soccer took over Queen City, as the CONCACAF Gold Cup held two contests at Bank of America Stadium. Mexico and Trinidad & Tobago faced each other in an exciting second game that ended in a tie.
During the match, as a player from Trinidad and Tobago attempted corner kick, Mexican fans hurled trash at him.

I know soccer and their fans are a different beast. They’re very passionate about the sport and the countries their teams represent, but there is NO excuse for this. It is tacky, rude and inexcusable. I don’t know if anyone was removed from the stadium for this, but fans who do not know how to respect the athletes on the field should not have the privilege of attending games.
