Coach K is on a roll.
After securing the top recruiting class for 2015, Mike Krzyzewski and his team have already started working on doing the same in 2016 with the signing of top hoops prospect Jayson Tatum.
Tatum, ranked the number two prospect in the 2016 class by ESPN, selected Duke over Kentucky, UNC and St Louis.
“I love the way the program is run and I love the way the academics are set up,” Tatum said of Duke. “My relationships with the Duke coaches were the best, and they made me a priority. They did the best job of recruiting me and have been at almost all my games, and that means a lot.”
“I love Coach K’s passion to coach his players and to coach the game,” Tatum said. “I examined and watched the interaction between him and his staff, along with the players, and was impressed how hard they played.”
The Blue Devils’ Twitter account had the perfect response to the announcement.
This is a great way to start the off-season recruiting trail. These days, top players want to team up with each other in hopes of winning a National Championship before pursuing their NBA dreams.
