This morning Charlotte filmmaker, singer and freedom fighter Bree Newsome decided to take matters into her own hands by removing the Confederate flag from the State House grounds in Columbia, South Carolina. Her act of activism resulted in her arrest and the birth of the #FreeBree hashtag on social media.
