About two weeks after firing Alan Major, the Charlotte 49ers have their new man.
Former Georgia Tech stand-out and 12-year NBA veteran Mark Price has agreed to a 5-year deal to become Charlotte’s new head basketball coach.

Price has been a NBA assistant for the last 8 years, including two years with the Charlotte Hornets. His only college coaching experience was from 1999 – 2000 with Georgia Tech.
There’s no question Price knows the game of basketball, the unknown factor will be his ability to recruit. You’d think his NBA connections would make it easier, but recruiting is an art. If Mark Price is a natural, he’ll be a great college coach.
