Chapel Hill will face their toughest challenge so far in this year’s NCAA Tournament when they take on #1 seeded Wisconsin this Thursday in the Sweet 16. One of the major question marks headed into the game is the status of forward Kennedy Meeks who sprained his knee in Saturday’s game against Arkansas.
Roy Williams talked to me media about Kennedy’s status and the initial prognosis isn’t good.
“It’s not good,” the head coach told Jones Angell. “He did not practice today. We don’t know what it will be later in the week. He did not practice today at all. We’ll just have to wait and see. They’re not completely ruling him out, and they’re not saying he can play. Let me say it that way: I don’t think we’ll have him, but we’ll just have to wait and see.”
Williams and Marcus Paige also discussed preparing for the Badgers and travelling to Los Angeles to play.
The Tar Heels will take on Wisconsin this Thursday at 7:47pm. The game will be televised on TBS.
