Hampton University defeated Manhattan to earn a spot in the field of 64 in this year’s NCAA Tournament. Their reward…playing the most feared team in the country – Kentucky.
The Pirates’ head coach Edward Joyner, said before the yesterday’s game that the team would need to have Jesus on speed dial if they had the opportunity to play the undefeated Wildcats and after the win, during his post-game presser, he decided to phone a friend.
This is awesome. The likelihood of Hampton pulling off the greatest upset in NCAA Tournament history isn’t very good, but you better believe they’ll leave it all out there on the floor Thursday night.
