We reported Saturday night that shots were fired at a CIAA day party and Club Label. Tons of celebrities were in attendance, including Carolina Panthers’ Quarterback Cam Newton, who was on stage with Young Jeezy when shots rang out during his performance.
WSOC has released photos and footage showing Newton next to Jeezy during the incident.
The Carolina Panthers have not released a statement about the fracas and nor should they. Newton shouldn’t be condemned for attending CIAA parties, just like no one else should. The vast majority of events surrounding the festivities occurred without incident and just like at any large gathering of people, it only takes one dummy to spoil the fun. This incident, or any other one that happens during CIAA, should not negatively reflect the occasion as a whole. A bigger issue shouldn’t be made of this than what it was, just a young man trying to have fun at a party.
