For the first time in 12 years, NC State defeated UNC in Chapel Hill and the 58-46 defeat prompted celebrations that included the burning of Tar Heel jerseys and mattresses.

Outside of Duke, NC State is arguably the Tar Heels’ biggest rival and after a drought of over a decade I understand fan celebration, but this is a too much. Â NC State has always had a formidable program, so winning games is nothing new. Â In this instance the “act like you’ve been there” approach would’ve been more appropriate for a program of this caliber.
