During Super Bowl weekend Thomas Davis won the league’s prestigious Walter Payton award. Tonight the Panthers’ linebacker will be recognized by the city where he touches the most lives when he receives the key to the city of Charlotte.

“The Key to the City is presented to an esteemed citizen and trusted friend of the city’s residents,” Clodfelter said in a statement. “Through his foundation and other charitable acts, Mr. Davis has proven his commitment to empowering young Charlotteans as they pursue their dreams.”
Davis will be awarded the key by Mayor Dan Clodfelter during tonight’s City Counsel meeting.
