Poll Shows Fans Want Carolina to Re-Sign Greg Hardy

Twitter polls aren’t usually known for their accuracy, but based on what I’ve been hearing from Panther fans, ESPN’s David Newton’s is pretty spot on.

Monday, the Carolina reporter decided to ask the Twitter-verse whether they thought the Panthers should re-sign defensive end Greg Hardy.  The response was a resounding yes.

The votes are in and 80.3 percent of you said the Carolina Panthers should re-sign defensive end Greg Hardy, with 42.8 percent of those that said yes stipulating conditions.

I put this to an unscientific vote Monday on Twitter. Sixty-one responded. I’m not sure if the low number shows a lack of interest or if fans in North Carolina were more focused on the winter storm that hit the area.

Regardless, those who voted were strongly in favor of the 2013 Pro Bowl selection being re-signed, with many of those saying at a discount.

The Panthers have not and cannot comment on their intentions until the league finishes their investigation.  If it’s found that he violated the new conduct code, Greg will at minimum be suspended without pay for the first six games of the season.

Hardy spent the majority of last season on the Commissioner’s Exempt list.  His jury trial was dismissed last week after his accuser, Nicole Holder, stopped cooperating with the prosecution.
