Trade rumors have surrounded the Hornets most of the season, with Lance Stephenson often right in the middle of them. A couple of weeks ago Charlotte and Brooklyn were discussing a deal that would send Stephenson to the Nets. That deal eventually broke down, but according to reports the Hornets are revisiting trade talks with Brooklyn in efforts to acquire Joe Johnson.
Source tells me there's DEFINITELY substance to the Hornets-Nets talks on J Johnson, discussions are still ongoing, definite mutual interest

The speculated trade package would send Lance Stephenson, Marvin Williams and Gerald Henderson to the Nets.
This seems like a steep price to pay for Johnson, who is on the downside of his career and has struggled with tendinitis this season. The Hornets are desperately trying to put together a team that could make a run at the playoffs through trades when maybe they should try to make the pieces they have work.
