Report: Lance Stephenson Clashing with Hornets Teammates

It’s been reported that the Charlotte Hornets are ready to give up the on the Lance Stephenson experiment just a few months into the season.  Many speculated that the trade rumors started because of Stephenson’s struggles on the court – he’s shooting 39% from the field and averaging 10 points per game – but Pro Basketball Talk reported that the Hornets’ issues with Lance extend beyond his poor play.

According to league sources, Stephenson has clashed with teammates, and coach Steve Clifford has placed the onus of Stephenson’s adjustment on the team’s veteran players, hoping they could police themselves and convince Stephenson to become more of a team player. Stephenson may become a more attractive piece near the Feb. 19 trade deadline, but the Hornets would want value in return.

It has been rumored that the Pacers want Stephenson back and are reportedly ready to pull the trigger, but players there have been apprehensive.

Lance is young and obviously still learning how to be a good teammate.  When you alienate the guys in the locker room it will come back to haunt you.
