Bengals’ linebacker Vontaze Burfict was flagged for two unnecessary penalties, but it’s the two that didn’t get called that have Panthers players calling for punishment, including suspension.
After making tackles on Cam Newton and Greg Olsen, Burfict appeared to twisted each player’s ankle when they were already down.
Kicker Graham Gano and Olsen himself said there’s no place in the game for play like this and have called on the league to punish Burfict for his actions.
Unbelievable that a player would intentionally try to hurt my teammates twice. I hope the NFL lays down the law hard. #Unacceptable

Seriously that makes me sick. There is no room in this league 4 something like that. We are grown men, have respect for the game and others.

Greg Olsen on Burfict: “If the league truly cares about league safety, they’ll start putting guys out for weeks … There’s no place for that”

The game of football itself is dangerous enough. These guys should not have to be worried about their peers making plays like the ones Burfict made. The league cannot let blatant dirty play like this go unpunished. What message are they sending if they do?
