NC State football coach Dave Doeren made headlines when he accused FSU of faking injuries to control the tempo of play in Saturday’s loss to Florida State.
“The tempo we had (in the first quarter) was working until all the crazy fall down things were going on and the clock kept stopping,” Doeren said. “You know the refs can’t do anything about that, but it’s horrible the way the tempo gets slow downed by these injuries. We went fast in the first-quarter, I guess there were no fake injuries.”
FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher took exception with the accusation saying Doeren doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

Now State’s head coach is issuing an apology for the remark.
Dave Doeren: “I have apologized to Jimbo Fisher & want to apologize to his staff, players & #FSU fans for my comments..”

Hey, let’s not front like it doesn’t happen, but you don’t want to go around calling out the conference and national championship team for cheating. I’m pretty sure that apology was induced by a call from ACC headquarters.
