At least one good quote always comes out of media day, but the most interesting bite I ran across during the Hornets’ time in front of reporters today was one made by Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, who reportedly said that with the addition of Lance Stephenson Charlotte can be the Detroit Bad Boys Pt. 2.
MKG on the defensive toughness on the perimeter with him and Lance: “We can be The Bad Boys, Part 2.” #HornetsMediaDay

That’s quite a statement by MKG, but if the Hornets are remotely close to the Bad Boys you can bet it will be an improvement from last year’s team that was swept in the first round of the playoffs. There was also big talk out of media day about Kidd-Gilchrist’s improvement on his notoriously bad shot…or as I like to call it, UGLY. Head coach Steve Clifford says that in all his years of coaching he’s never seen a shot improve so drastically.
Clifford has coached 31 years, says he has never seen as drastic a change in shooting mechanics as he has with MKG. — Russell Varner (@rvarner) September 29, 2014
MKG has been working hard with assistant coach Mark Price in the offseason to change his mechanics.
Anything has to be better than this.
